2 months

First photo as a family of four

To my sweet Plum...at two months.

You weigh 12lbs and are 24in tall!

You get the hiccups on a daily basis.

You are making more and more sounds each day. Your "goos" and "ohs" and "ahs" are music to my ears, my Plum. I love our "talks" at the changing table.

You love that little toy monkey just as much as your sister did when she was your age. You just stare into its big eyes and smile.

Oh, your smile! That smile could make just about anyone who crosses your path smile, too.

You flare your nostrils and shape your mouth into a perfect "o" when you pee or poop.

You are my super good sleeper. You take one long nap in the afternoon...usually for three or four hours and you have only been waking once in the night and you nurse and go right back to sleep. I love you for this! Especially because your sister is having trouble sleeping...oy!

You will sleep whenever you're in my wrap, too. You slept the entire time we were apple picking.

You are drooling and blowing bubbles and chewing on your little fists.

We all are so in love with you. When I pick you up, Greta often says, "No! Don't take my 'Stella!"

2.2

To my sweet pea,

You are constantly testing boundaries. I need to take deep breaths often, and then you'll say something adorable and all is well and good with the world again.

You are very compassionate and loving, my tender little heart...always thinking of others when they (me) are stressed.

You went kayaking for the first time with your dada and you loved it!

When you were just a tiny little baby, you would gently run your hand back and forth across my chest as I breast fed you...you still like to do this.

Cars with serious bass often go down our street. When one car was thumping particularly loudly, you said, "wha's that!?" And then in your deepest voice, said, "it's bears!" and you stomped about the house slowly as if you were a bear.

You like to pretend everything is ice cream and proceed to lick it. You recently recovered from a little cold and I'm sure it was a result of this.

You started your ballet lessons again and you get so excited about going every week. And I love the way you pronounce "ballet"...like Billy Elliot, Scottish rogue.

We went apple picking this past weekend and you loved feeding the goats at the petting zoo. You would just throw the feed at them and they would look at you like, "what the shit, kid?" but once, just once, you held out your hand and let the goat eat out of it. I was so proud of you.

You are becoming more of a climber, which makes me super nervous (but really proud)...especially when you climb things above my head.

Your new thing is jumping off the furniture into the beanbag.

You have been waking often in the night (more so than your nine week old sister) screaming, but usually go back to sleep on your own. I'm told these are night terrors and typically begin around this age. You've had a couple nightmares, though, where we needed to put you back to sleep. I hope this phase passes soon.

When you awake in the morning, you say, "I want my milk back." as if I had taken it away from you.
